Bees and flowers and hummingbirds and pollination at the Tamworth 4th of July parade. | Juno Lamb |
Summer is in full swing, the weather changes every day or two in true New England fashion, and we are hoping to see many of you this coming Saturday at our Annual Meeting & Cookout in Chocorua.
As we prepare for the Annual Meeting, we remember with gratitude CLC members, including former board and committee members, who have died this past year. Their service, care, and support are part of why the Lake Basin remains recognizable and familiar to people who haven't been here in years or decades, and their company will be missed. Please scroll down for our In Memoriam section. |
Join us for our Annual Meeting & Cookout this Saturday, July 12, at 4 PM |
Please come to our Annual Meeting & Cookout at Runnells Hall, a chance to learn about our current work and the CLC 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, ask questions, and visit over a yummy supper. Bring your favorite salad or dessert! If you haven't signed up yet, please click the pink link below so we know how many folks to expect.
| Can't make it to the Annual Meeting? |
We would still love to hear your thoughts about the new Strategic Plan. Other opportunities to connect casually with CLC board or staff members include our two July Trail Times, on Friday, July 11 in the morning, and Sunday, July 27 in the afternoon, and CLC Office Open House from 4–6 PM on Wednesday, July 30 and Friday, August 29.

Tamworth 4th of July Parade |
Big thanks to the more than thirty volunteers of all ages who participated in the 4th of July parade this year, painting flowers and pollinators in advance, and walking and singing in the parade itself. Our theme this year reflects the essential role pollinators play in human and planetary life. They are at all kinds of risks, and wherever we live, we can take simple steps to support their thriving.

A special picnic at Chocorua Lake... |
In honor of National Picnic Month, Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm asked local organizations to create an interpretation of a picnic scene that represents the organization. Our display commemorates a very special picnic not just at, but ON, Chocorua Lake in June of 1940. Visit the Remick Museum anytime this month to learn the story of this romantic picnic 85 years ago that we still know about today through the long family connections people have to Tamworth and the Chocorua Lake Basin. Big thank yous to the amazing volunteers who crafted this beautiful display!
