Hello [[INITIATIVE.AUDIENCE MEMBER.FIRST NAME]],
I can't believe it's already mid-January 2025! We hope you had a safe and wonderful holiday with your friends and family. If you thought you missed our December newsletter, you didn't. We've been moving to a new CRM, and as all data moves are, it's been a bit of a work in progress.
Anyway, Blue Faery is kicking off the year by attending ASCO GI in San Francisco next week. If you plan to attend and want to meet, be sure to reach out to me. Next month, we're launching the fifth year of our Love Your Liver program. We have two workshops for Blacks/African Americans at risk for liver disease or liver cancer. Both virtual workshops are led by doctors who represent the community. Scroll down to register today!
I'd Rather Be Dead Than Deaf, also known as the Liver Cancer Journal Project, has won another award! The book is a Finalist in the Journey Book Awards in the genre of Overcoming Adversity in Narrative Nonfiction and Memoir. This particular award means a lot to me because my book Better Off Bald won the grand prize in the same category. Remember, all proceeds go to Blue Faery, so buy the book on Amazon today!
Are you a healthcare provider or researcher who specializes in HCC? If so, it's time to apply for the 2025 Blue Faery Award for Excellence in Liver Cancer Research. The application process is easy, and the deadline is January 31, so be sure to apply today!
Another thing we've been working on behind the scenes: Planned Giving. That's right! In addition to adding Blue Faery to your will (i.e., bequests), we can accept stocks, DAFs, cryptocurrency, and most non-probate assets. Learn more on our Planned Giving website.
Thank you again for your continued support. We appreciate you!
Fighting Liver Cancer Together,
Andrea Wilson Woods
President and Founder, Blue Faery
P.S. If this first newsletter on our new platform is wonky, please let us know. We always appreciate your feedback.
