Hello [[INITIATIVE.AUDIENCE MEMBER.FIRST NAME]],
I'm thrilled to introduce you to Heather Drake, Blue Faery's new full-time Program Manager. Heather joins our team from Connecticut, and she has personal experience with liver cancer.
In 2004, Heather's father Ron received a life-saving liver transplant after being diagnosed with liver cancer. He had none of the typical risk factors (e.g., HBV, HCV, fatty liver, ALD). However, Ron was a Vietnam Veteran who had been exposed to Agent Orange, a potent carcinogen, which may have been a contributing factor. Ron lived ten years with his new liver until another cancer ultimately took his life. Heather joined Blue Faery to give back to the liver cancer community as she felt frustrated by the lack of information during her father's illness.
Last month, Program Manager Susan Hall and Operations Manager Marina Uchenik went to HCC Live, where they networked with others, manned a table, and attended sessions. As always, the conference was lively, with many debates about how to treat HCC patients, revealing the sheer complexity of the disease.
Our Love Your Liver program during Black History Month was very successful! Dr. Cristal Brown and Dr. Lewis Roberts gave stellar presentations. With over 2,100 registrants and over 350 people showing up live, we saw 90+ questions, 1200+ poll responses, and 300+ reactions throughout the two events. You can catch the replays on Blue Faery's YouTube Channel.
Thank you again for your support.

Andrea Wilson Woods
