Hello [[INITIATIVE.AUDIENCE MEMBER.FIRST NAME]],
May is Hepatitis Awareness Month, a time to remind everyone that liver cancer prevention begins with knowing your risk.
Hepatitis B and hepatitis C are leading risk factors for liver cancer, but many people do not know they are infected. Without testing, viral hepatitis can go undetected for years while slowly damaging the liver. That damage can lead to cirrhosis and, in some cases, liver cancer.
Do not wait for symptoms. If you do not know your hepatitis B or hepatitis C status, ask your doctor for a test. Encourage your loved ones to get tested, too.
Blue Faery carries this message into every part of our work, from patient education to community events to national conversations about liver cancer.
We recently hosted our HCC Lunch and Learn in Houston, where patients, caregivers, advocates, and medical experts came together for an afternoon of learning and support. We were honored to be joined by Dr. Sudha Kodali, whose leadership and partnership were instrumental in helping make the event a success at Houston Methodist Hospital.
We also hosted our Love Your Liver workshop in observance of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The bilingual event, in English and Chinese, helped raise awareness about liver health, hepatitis B, and liver cancer risk in AAPI communities, where culturally relevant education and resources can make a meaningful difference.
Next, Blue Faery is heading to the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago, taking place May 29 through June 2. If you are attending, we invite you to visit us at Booth 10013. We would love to connect with partners, advocates, clinicians, and supporters who share our commitment to improving outcomes for people affected by liver cancer.
This Hepatitis Awareness Month, talk to your doctor about hepatitis B and hepatitis C testing, especially if you do not know your status. Learning your risk is one of the first steps toward protecting your liver health.
Together, we can help more people get the facts, get tested, and take action before liver cancer develops.
Thank you so much for helping us make our mission possible!
